About Me
Meet Emily, Professional Organizer in
Burtonsville, MD
Hello! I'm Emily. It's so nice to meet you!
As you read this, you may experience shame about the state of your home or some portion of your home. From the outset, I want to assure you that my approach is non-judgmental. First, I recognize that we all organize differently. Also, I know that most people do not naturally maintain tidy spaces.
Maybe your life is full due to exciting life transitions-an upcoming move, a new baby, a marriage. Or you may be drowning due to a recently received diagnosis that has turned life upside down, the recent loss of a loved one, or the decision to move out of the home you have lived in for decades. While not transitions, some life stages can be especially challenging: parenting young children or parenting kids while also caring for one’s older parents.
Due in part to my diverse professional experience, ranging from animal training to diabetes education with a few others in between, I have developed the skills to learn how you use your space & how you would ideally use it.
I have also had extensive experience planning, executing & adapting projects according to various restrictions, including last minute adjustments. There is no project too large (or too small!), & I look forward to partnering with you to develop maintainable organizational solutions to help you love spending time in your home.
"[Emily] was thoughtful, efficient & incredibly hardworking with great ideas for how to restructure the space. She never once made me feel judged about the starting condition of the garage & instead focused on building systems that worked for me & my lifestyle. She also took the time to explain her organizing strategies so I could keep everything in order long after the initial visit."
Our organizing process
Generally speaking, an organizing project will include:
- Sorting items into categories
- Identifying a "home" for categories
- Purging items to fit in their "home"
- "Home-ing" items for future use

"Emily cares about the person in the space, not just delivering a magazine perfect picture that isn’t realistic for actual life. She will work with you on what you need to be successful."
"My closet was a hot mess. With Emily's help it was transformed into this organized uncluttered space. Not only that, I never felt judged. In fact it felt like such an accomplishment getting rid of so much that I honestly wasn't using."
